The Peach Pit is guided by the industry’s leading standards and procedures, most explicitly, The Institute for Nonprofit News’ guidelines for Editorial independence and Donor Transparency and the Society of Professional Journalists’ Code of Ethics. Editorial Independence Policy :
The Peach Pit subscribes to standards of editorial independence adopted by the Institute for Nonprofit News:

TPP retains full authority over editorial content to protect the best journalistic and business interests of our organization. We maintain a firewall between news coverage decisions and sources of all revenue. Acceptance of financial support does not constitute implied or actual endorsement of donors or their products, services or opinions.

We accept gifts, grants and sponsorships from individuals and organizations for the general support of our activities, but our news judgments are made independently and not on the basis of donor support.

While TPP may consider or petition donations to support the coverage of a wide swath of topics, but our editorial team maintains editorial control of all coverage. We will cede no right of review or influence of editorial content, nor of unauthorized distribution of editorial content.

Fact Checking Policy

Our journalists and editorial team work hard to verify all information we gather from sources over the course of our reporting. If you should find something in our work that you think is inaccurate, please let us know and we will take a critical review of the situation. Please email frontdesk@gapeachpit.com for any fact-check requests or explanations.
